I really don't know how some columnists have jobs with some of the shit they write. Today, we have a shit spewing columnist from the Daily Star, Joe Mott with a comment that I had to read twice to actually believe that it was printed by the newspaper.

Last Sunday this idiot made a remark about Ricky Gervais' recent weightloss writing the following: "not being bad but if Ricky Gervais was homosexual, you'd be wondering if he was, you know, ill. His dramatic weight-loss has left him looking like a dying man."

How can anyone be so fucking ignorant? This is not funny and it certainly should not be printed in a newspaper for all to read. Why would anyone spread such shit all over what charities like the Terrence Higgins Trust have tried to do in terms of educating people when it comes to HIV and AIDS. Well, everyone is pissed off and are demanding for the Daily Star to apologise. No word form the newspaper as of yet.

What do you think the Daily Star should do now? Is apologising enough or should they do something bigger to show they are twats for printing such crap?  You be the judge!

I find this appalling. Ill? A dying man? How on earth is anyone in their obviously clinging half-grasp of sanity utter such deeply grievous words? simply horrid and enraging

If Gervais was ill that could be for any reason without his sexuality even coming into play. Yeah, Mott has proved himself to be a twat with his comments but interestingly, Chubby Brown refers to a woman's bits as a mott.. I rest my case.

This columnist is clearly homophobic, from his words he is clearly saying that(Ricky Gervais looks like a ill gay man with AIDS. Until this article I had never heard of this columnist 'Joe Mott' before, and to be FRANK the man's head looks like discoloured ASDA branded toilet brush. Or a wax version of one atleast. If I was him I would have been terrified of my pictured being printed for ALL to see, SHOCK HORROR. My question is, what are the gay readers who have seen this article in the news paper going to do about it? Don't just comment on it, whoever read it in print and is offended should formally complain about it.I think when Ricky Gervais reads this article he may either laugh at the ugly creature that wrote it, or SUE it.

This guy sounds like a right dick, no sorry scratch that dicks are useful, he's a twat. How the hell can your sexuality be called into question jut because you look ill or have lost weight. This guy seriously needs to go back to fucking journalism school or wherever the stupid prick learnt his craft.

what exactly is it that's wrong with his comment?

in effect (and to my understanding), what he said was 'if Ricky Gervais were gay, you couldn't be blamed for thinking he had caught AIDS/HIV, so dramatic is the loss in weight'...

can somebody tell me exactly what is wrong with that?

i can't see why there is a need to point out that it's not funny, as i saw the comment in the paper (in the picture given) and it's not as if there is any attempt to be humourous at all.

what i would say is that he hasn't exactly helped to extinguish the stereotype that only Gay men carry the AIDS and HIV viruses. for that he should be given a slap on the wrist, yes.

I think that what we all need to understand about comments like these and other words from assholes such as this one and that is  that  shit doesn't change because it is in a different toilet. It stinks wherever it is dumped from an asshole.  Comments like these stem from the writer's belief that he is safe to make  them. Remember, this writer has to wipe his asshole with the already used shit paper handed down to him from those higher up than him.

Forget this shit-crack,... go, instead after the top. There you will find the BIGGEST, SLOPPIEST and SHITTIEST ASSHOLE OF ALL!  THE EDITOR!

OK. First off I don't remember Ricky Gervais saying he was gay and secondly, for someone whom is supposed to be educated enough to hold a spoon to his lips he shouldn't say things like that in a publication.  As a gay man I find this to be disgustingly sick, cruel, and morally idiotic.  Again just another example of how ignorant people with power can become slighted and unjustifiably gross!!  Let me tell you something Mr. Polyester suit if you were part of an ethnicity that is ridiculed, hated, and otherwise wanted only to be seen behind closed doors you would change your tone. You should be fired for making a comment like that.  When there is an opening I want your job and I will be sitting on the CUPCAKE BEARS lap as I intend to write your column.  GROW THE @##^ up.

I don't see the issue.  His statement is correct.  If Ricky were out, we would assume he had AIDS because of his weight loss.  That is absolutely true.  The statement is neither mean-spirited nor homophobic, simply logical and true.

To Lee,...
Lee,.. that's the whole point about why we should call out those who make comments like these. They feel that they are safe to assume that because a person is gay that when they lose weight, they must be dying. We need to lift our mindsets higher, if you will, to a point that if a person looks sick,... and listen to this,... he may just , well, be... " SICK"
Thinking that this sick person "MUST" be dying of AIDs leaves you and anyone else who jumps to that logic, no room to show compassion, leaving him to be attacked without heroes to come to his rescue, like  those who are outraged.

Well, what can we expect from a non-proper newspaper? I mean, it's not The Times is it?! It's a nasty nudge-nudge wink-wink slur I think. I'm adding a comparatively mild comment, as there seems enough vitriole comments already of outrageous, disgraceful, etc. Well, ample chat about s**t and a***holes too I see! I refrain from the full wording in my polite moderation.
