Another Brutal Attack on A Gay Man.

by Aamyko 5th April 201121:23

I am really upset and annoyed at the news, that over the weekend on Saturday , Philip Sallon, a gay, West End club scene regular was brutally attacked near Piccadilly Circus. He is in the hospital now recovering from a fractured skull and broken bones in his face. His face was stamped on and is in severe pain but luckily he is still alive.

Phillip Sallon is very close friend with Boy George and Boy took to the press saying: "I am very upset. He is my oldest and closest friend. He is not the sort of person I can imagine anyone wanting to beat up. It would be a total waste of time. He is a colourful character but certainly not aggressive. He is not someone who would have got into a fight. He is a bit like me and just goes out on his own.

"There must have been people there, it is a really public area. There are always lots of people coming in from clubs. Whoever called the ambulance wasn't around to give any evidence.

"The police are dealing with it but apparently there is no CCTV footage. Someone must have seen it, it was a brutal assault."

I just can not believe this would happen in Piccadilly Circus without any CCTV or witnesses. It's so fucking horrible that this has happened in Central London, home of many gay clubs and pubs. This can not continue to happen. I am sick and tired of reading about these stories of hate and abuse in a city known for it's open-mindedness. I needed to blog about this cos I am angry and I just ask when will this fucking end? We need to take a stand to all these bullies going around attacking defenseless people that get attack just because they are gay.

If you have been victim of bullying or abuse there are people you can turn to and you are NOT alone. it's important to report everything and stand up for ourselves and let people know that we are not going to take this homophobic shit any longer.

If you have been victim of any kind of abuse you can contact Stop The Abuse For Everyone. at 0800 328 3070.

This is horrific. Ironically, I thought I'd see more homophobia moving from the city to a rural area, but that hasn't proved the case. Mr Sallon: you have my every wish and hope for a full and speedy recovery. I recognise that mental recovery might come later than the closure of physical wounds, in which case there's no shame in seeing a therapist. May I wish you the brightest of blessings throughout your recovery from this horrible ordeal...

Steve
