We have seen it everywhere on the news. Gays getting bullied at schools, playgrounds and pretty much everywhere in the U.S. In the UK there is still some bullying but the Brits are a lot more politically correct than Americans are. Even if a straight Brit might be thinking "what a fucking queer!" they would NEVER say anything, at least not to your face. That is why I love the U.K. Well, that and the fact that you can enter a civil union here and I could go on and on! Gays have come a long way here in the UK and in general I find it to be a very tolerant society.

But what happens when tolerance is not a word that is part of people's vocabulary? Well then, you do what the American peeps over at FCKH8 and tell everyone in the world to FUCKING RESPECT YOU FOR WHO THE FUCK YOU ARE! There is nothing better than getting an annoying 8 year old to scream at the top of her lungs: "Fucking Faggot!" Yes, if you can not get the respect that you want by peacefully stating your opinion then you gotta take matters into your own hands and start throwing the "fucks" around!

The entire project is dead set on eradicating hate, while I do think it is quite funny I also think that screaming at people that you better FUCKING respect them and you better not have a FUCKING problem with gays is not the most diplomatic way to go. They also have an entire assortment of products such as t-shirts, wristbands, buttons that you can purchase to show your support to get your fucking point across.

However the most talked about product is the 2011 FCKH8 Calendar which features STR8 guys taking it off for the gays. Not a terribly original concept but I guess they figure if they show some skin we gays might get it cos the know how obsessed we are with semi-naked male bodies!

Here is the video that started it all and you be the judge on whether is does more harm than good! Enjoy!

The F-word is obscene.  Getting in people's faces with it does nothing for the cause.  Indeed, it's probably counterproductive.  A better campaign would have used language that's not offensive to clean-living people.

They've definately got a point, it's a good cause, and I can't deny that the whole thing is rather catchy.  It's bought a T-shirt and will be wearing it with pride; not sure if my Mother will approve though...

I really think its time to get in people faces. Sadly people don't react to nice and calm anymore,if they did this whole campaign wouldn't be necessary! Its a sad state of affairs, when LGBT teens across the states are killing themselves cause of prejudice they are facing at all levels, from school yard bullies to congressmen saying awful things about the LGBT community, yet the first american on here doesn't stand behind a campaign to try and make things better. they have you believing their spin. Sad times indeed, and its a wonder why America lags behind on any sort of social agenda

If it's an offensive and COUNTERproductive campaign, as I believe it is, then "getting behind it" is not a good idea.  You don't win other people over by trashing their values and spitting on them.  Trying to defeat hate by using hate is stupid.  It's like the fable about the north wind having a contest with the sun to see who could get the man to take off his coat.  Find the common ground and work from there.

The video would be great if it weren't for the swearing. It raises fantastic points, such as the prom date bit, and I like the 'dance' bit, but the swearing just makes it unfunny.

Also, the "spread it like herpes" thing is out of line.
