Airbrush Me! Pointless Perfection?

Airbrush Me! Pointless Perfection?

Everybody is guilty of airbrushing their pictures. A little light change, adding a slight glow to the skin and maybe a slight sparkle to the eye that wasn't there before. Whatever the change, we all have "enhanced" our pictures (and if you haven't I bet you have secretly wanted to!)

Now, I am all for looking your best on pictures and letting people see how fab you are, but what happens when the "airbrushed look" makes its way into our daily lives? (Magazines, ads, and even PORN!) Is this what we want? Airbrushed perfection?

We all know that whatever we see, in magazines everywhere, almost 95% of what we see is just so not real. Everything form Ryan Reynolds on the cover of Men's Health to Lancome's cover guy Clive Owen, they've all been so photo shopped they end up looking like cartoons instead of real people.

I for one think that porn should be raw and real not really "pretty". Recently, I have been looking at some pictures that I have received from sites and I just think, this is just a tad too perfect and not sexy. It's like wanking to a picture of a Ken doll. Plastic, but not fantastic.

So where do we draw the line? How much airbrushing do these men really need and do you buy into it or not?

Have Your Say!
